Dr. Kevin Stewart
Veterinarian
Introducing Dr. Kevin Stewart, a Michigan State University graduate who boasts 37 years of invaluable experience in the veterinary field. His commitment lies in diligently investigating cases to identify issues and providing treatments that make a significant impact.
Beyond his professional pursuits, Dr. Stewart finds pleasure in hobbies like hunting, photography, home renovations, and equestrian activities. He also loves spending time with his animals: 2 dogs, 3 horses, and chickens.
John Garber
Practice Manager
Meet John Garber, the recently appointed practice manager in the veterinary field, who brings a decade of management experience to his new role. A graduate of ITT Technical Institute, John is dedicated to providing top-notch medical care and a positive experience for both patients and their owners during every visit. He takes pride in creating a welcoming and friendly environment for pets and their owners, ensuring a comfortable atmosphere.
Outside of work, John finds joy in playing with his mini Aussie, exploring his culinary skills through cooking and baking, and going on hikes. Additionally, he relishes spending time at the beach to soak up the sun and taking scenic drives along M-22.
Rachel Shaffer
Introducing Rachel Shaffer, a dedicated and passionate Licensed Veterinary Technician at Platte Lake Veterinary Clinic. With a solid foundation from Baker College of Cadillac, Rachel brings a fresh perspective to the veterinary field.
Rachel takes great pride in her commitment to the well-being of animals. She is a skilled technician and has also achieved certification in three levels of Fear-free practices, ensuring a compassionate and stress-free environment for every furry patient under her care.
Whether she’s immersed in the captivating world of video games, maintaining a healthy lifestyle through workouts, expressing her creativity through drawing, or indulging in the pages of a good book, Rachel’s enthusiasm and dedication extend beyond the veterinary clinic.
Andi Rosa
Veterinary Technician
Andi completed her education at MSU College of Vet Med and has 23 years of experience in the veterinary field. With a particular focus on small animal dentistry and behavior, she holds certifications as a fear-free practitioner and a certified dental technician.
In her free time, Andi enjoys outdoor activities like hiking, gardening, and horseback riding, and spending time with her Aussie, Jetta. She also enjoys reading and spending time with her family.
Maggie
Maggie is a graduate of the University of Kentucky and brings 2.5 years of experience to the veterinary field. She takes great pride in delivering the highest level of care and pays meticulous attention to detail. Known for her exceptional memory of patients and clients, Maggie fosters and maintains professional relationships.
In her free time, she keeps aquariums with tropical fish. An avid participant in Hunter Jumper competitions, she spends her free time riding and competing. Maggie also enjoys the company of her dogs, cat, horse, and turtle.
Zoey
Veterinary Assistant
Meet Zoey, a dedicated veterinary assistant at Platte Lake Veterinary Clinic. With three years of experience in the industry, Zoey’s journey began at Northern Michigan University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology, laying the foundation for her passion for animal care.
Zoey takes immense pride in her role, emphasizing the importance of excellent care and unwavering compassion for her furry patients. Her commitment to providing top-notch medical attention, coupled with a warm and nurturing approach, sets her apart in the field of veterinary medicine.
In her free time, Zoey enjoys hiking, climbing, kayaking, downhills skiing, cross stitching, and reading.
Ashley
Introducing Ashley, the secretary at Platte Lake’s Vet Clinic. A graduate of Northern Michigan University, Ashley is passionate about fostering connections within the small community, particularly among those who share an interest in animals. She takes pride in building meaningful relationships with the people she serves at the clinic.
In her free time, Ashley enjoys hiking with her fiance, Derrick, and their mini Aussie, Daisy. She also enjoys spending time with her family, camping, arts and crafts, and listening to local live music.
Shelby
Shelby has been in the veterinary industry since October of 2023. She prides herself in providing superior patient care and building community relations. In her free time, she enjoys a wide variety of activities, including hiking, kayaking, and spending time with her 5 year old son.
Pam
Pam boasts 23 years of experience in the veterinary field, including roles in animal shelters and animal law enforcement. She prioritizes fulfilling clients’ wishes and needs efficiently while also striving to establish trust with them.
In her free time, she enjoys going to the beach, camping, kayaking, and gardening. She also loves visiting museums and spending time with her family.
